We are beyond excited to finally be able to introduce you to Kayla, our Office and Design Assistant.

You know when you meet someone and they are like a breath of fresh air? That’s what this girl is to me.

It’s been about 3 years of juggling multiple hats and I’m finally learning this thing called delegation… I have a feeling I’ll be delegating tasks to someone who will likely do them better than me.

After researching for hours on how to make the best hire, taking a mini course by Nancy Ray and straight hustle, I developed my own hiring process that resulted in this sweet girl joining our team.

The best thing?!? She loves real estate just about as much as I do! Talk about heaven!

Kayla is a soon-to-be graduate of Meredith College has all-the-organization skills, an eye for design, and background in event planning.

We are still getting to know each other but, so far, my favorite parts about Kayla are:

  • her laugh – i’ve noticed she makes the cutest little snort when she starts to laugh really hard
  • she’s super good with spreadsheets
  • and we share a mutual love of “the google”

I also love that she’s driven, knows the direction she wants to go.

… we plan on helping her get there.

Let’s meet Kayla, shall we?

  • Okay, I have to ask. Chocolate or Vanilla?

  • Dogs or Cats (or neither)

Dogs, 100%

  • The last book you read.

Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst

  • Favorite Movie?

The Shawshank Redemption…or How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days…clearly depends on my mood, haha!

  • Design inspiration:

Joanna Gaines. I am shiplap-obsessed.

  • If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Hawaii! I am a sucker for traveling to tropical places and Hawaii has always been at the top of my list.

  • What is your degree in (or going to be)?

I have just completed a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences. Essentially, my degree is all about home economics and how to help individuals, families, and communities resolve issues through the practice of basic life skills! I have a minor in Interior Design and focused most of my core curriculum and research on interior design and how the design of a simple space can change an individual’s overall mood and performance.

  • Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

This question gets me every time. By nature, I am a planner. I have every little detail of how I expect my life to go perfectly illustrated in my head. If I were to answer this question today, I would say that in 5 years I will be married, building a farmhouse, and beginning to start a family. I expect to be practicing real estate in the Raleigh area, and continuing my career in the interior design industry. I also expect to be in the process of connecting with someone who can set me up with a TV show on HGTV (crazy dream of mine!). BUT, if I were to answer the question honestly today, I have no earthly idea where I will be in five years. If there is one important thing that I have learned in my 22 years of life, it is that God’s plans are far greater than I could ever imagine and that He is going to have me exactly where He wants me to be five years from now. I believe that He has placed my dreams and desires on my heart for a reason, but ultimately He goes before me. And for that, I am so grateful.

I mean, don’t you just love her?!?

With Kayla by my side, you can expect

  • more organized content
  • a growing community of people who want to make inspiring investments in their home
  • and resources available to help you and all your home renovation, design, or real estate needs

Thank you so much for helping me welcome Kayla to our small, but mighty team!
